Celebrating the life of Mr. M. Glenn Magaha, 80, of Frederick, MD. Born Nov 11, 1927, and entered into everlasting rest, January 2, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was the devoted husband of Helen Heflin Magaha. He was the youngest and 14th child of the late John Henry and Margaret Ann Myers Magaha of Charlestown, WV. He was a graduate of Charlestown High School and attended Hampton-Sydney College in Hampton, VA.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 wonderful years (he referred to as his angel), Helen Heflin Magaha.
Glenn was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, good neighbor and good Christian friend to all who knew him.
Glenn served people and his community in many ways. He was an active member of Calvary United Methodist church in Frederick, serving as Lay Leader, President, and Teacher in Bible study groups. He was a member of FSK/American Legion Post #11, BPO Elks #684, Catoctin Club, and a lifetime member of the Suburban Kiwanis Club of Frederick, receiving the honorary Hixson award for countless hours of community service. Glenn is also a war veteran, serving in both the US Navy, in Guam, and the US Army during the Korean War. Glenn loved and served his country, his family and friends, and his divine and merciful Lord.
Glenn and his wife Helen loved their family and friends, and time spent with them. They loved to dance. They belonged to a couple of dance clubs, from earlier years of square dancing to more recent days of ball room dancing. Glenn was an avid sports fan, having himself played college football and quite the basketball star. In fact the basketball court is where he and Helen first met.
Glenn was a hard worker, and held many jobs during his lifetime, retiring as President and Sales Manager for Selinger Associates.
We celebrate the life and gifts of Glenn Magaha, our beloved.
